By downloading, installing, or using Sponsio ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Andrew Goble ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our").
Description of Service
Sponsio is a mobile application designed to help friends track friendly bets, challenges, and wagers. The App provides features including:
Creating and managing bets between friends
Tracking bet outcomes and stake ledgers
Check-in functionality with photo proof
Syncing data across your devices via iCloud
Important: Sponsio is intended for tracking friendly bets and challenges only. The App does NOT facilitate real money gambling, process payments, or handle financial transactions of any kind.
Eligibility
You must meet the following requirements to use Sponsio:
Be at least 17 years of age
Have a valid Apple ID and iCloud account
Comply with all applicable local laws regarding social betting and challenges
Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.
No Real Money Gambling
Sponsio is explicitly designed as a tracking and ledger tool only:
The App does NOT process, facilitate, or handle any money transfers
Stakes are recorded as ledger entries only - no real money is exchanged through the App
The App is not a gambling platform and does not fall under gambling regulations
You are responsible for ensuring your use of the App complies with local laws
User Responsibilities
When using Sponsio, you agree to:
Use the App only for its intended purpose of tracking friendly bets
Provide accurate information when creating and participating in bets
Respect other users and refrain from harassment or abusive behavior
Not use the App for any illegal purposes
Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App
Comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction
Be responsible for any disputes with other participants
Settle stakes and payments outside the App through your own methods
iCloud and Data Storage
Sponsio uses Apple CloudKit to store your data:
All data is stored in your private iCloud account
You must have an active iCloud account with sufficient storage
You are responsible for managing your iCloud storage and backups
The Developer does not have access to your CloudKit data
Apple's terms and conditions for iCloud apply to your data storage
Content and Photos
When you upload photos or create content in Sponsio:
You retain all ownership rights to your content
You grant the App permission to store and display your content as necessary for functionality
You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any photos you upload
You agree not to upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
We reserve the right to remove access to the App if content violates these Terms
Intellectual Property
The Sponsio application, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Andrew Goble and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its components
Use the Sponsio name, logo, or branding without permission
Create derivative works based on the App
Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
Disputes Between Users
Sponsio is a tool for tracking bets between friends. The Developer:
Is not responsible for disputes between users regarding bet outcomes
Cannot mediate, arbitrate, or resolve disagreements about stakes or payments
Has no liability for unpaid stakes or settlement disputes
Recommends users resolve disputes amicably or through appropriate legal channels
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
Warranties that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of data
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of profits, data, or use of the App
Disputes between users or unpaid stakes
Issues arising from iCloud storage or Apple services
Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the App (if applicable)
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Developer from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
Your use or misuse of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any laws or regulations
Disputes with other users
Content you upload or share through the App
App Availability and Updates
We strive to provide reliable service, but:
The App may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
We may release updates that require newer iOS versions or device capabilities
Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App if:
You violate these Terms
Your use poses risk to other users or the App's integrity
Required by law or legal process
Upon termination, your data remains in your iCloud account and is subject to Apple's policies.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:
We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document
Significant changes will be communicated through the App or via email
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding the use of Sponsio.
